Thanking Reflection, Fate, or Destiny
Life, fate, or destiny will always find a way to create miracles for humans.

Hugging the steering wheel as the tears flowed, Kara knew it must end. Miles, her husband of more than ten years, has filed for divorce, stating that she was barren, and it's time he finds a woman who can give him an heir. After spending thousands on Invitro fertilization and everything else that modern technology could offer, Kara still could not reproduce.
She turned off the engine, wiping away the tears with the back of her hand, glancing around while stepping out of her car. No one was around, 'good,' she thought to herself. 'No one will be able to stop me.'
Closing the car and taking only her cell phone, she took a shortcut to the cliff a few yards away. Standing at the cliff's edge, staring out at the sun as it edges towards the sea, creating a magnificent sunset. Memories of watching many sunsets with Miles flood her brain, leading her back to happier times that were never coming back, forcing more tears out.
As she edged closer to jump, a muffled sound stalled her movements. She halted for a few seconds. When the sound didn't return, she moved closer. The sound returned. This routine continued for a few seconds. Then a voice cried out in agony, "someone help me please!"
Instinctively, Sara found a path that led her closer and closer to the anxious voice screaming out in pain. Her heart paused a few yards between the rocks while staring at a young lady lying on bare rocks covered in blood.
"Please," she begged, swaying her head, "save my baby!"
Ten minutes later, Paramedics came and rushed her to the nearest hospital.
Back at the hospital, Officer Jason Lynn and Officer Emily Winter questioned Kara.
"How did you find her?" Officer Lynn asks.
"I was standing nearby, and I heard someone crying out for help."
"What were you doing up there?"
"Reflection on my life?"
"Do you always go to the edge of a cliff for reflection?"
Turning away to hide the truth her eyes might reveal, Kara said, "it's the best place to watch a sunset."
"Well," Officer Lynn said, eyeing his partner, "You save two lives. Your own and a child."
"What!" Kara cried, turning to face them.
"She didn't make it," Officer Winter said. "We need your I.D. and address."
"I am so sorry," Kara said, fighting the tears. "It's in my purse in my car."
Both officers showed up at her house two weeks later, escorting her to the courthouse.
She sat inside Justice Christina Malloy's chamber, waiting. Minutes later, the judge entered with a beautiful baby girl in her arms. She handed the baby to Kara and said, "before her mother died, she asked if you would adopt her baby."
Kara's eyes popped, and tears followed, "what happened to her father?"
"He is in custody for the attempted murder of her mother," Justice Malloy said.
"Why?" Kara ask.
"He didn't want children. When she found out that she was pregnant, she left. Months later he convinced her to return home. When she did, he took her to Sunset Point and threw her down, leaving her for dead." Staring at Kara weird, she remarked, "reflection ah?"
Kara's eyes met hers, and she said, touching her hand that caressed the baby, then consoles, "Reflection, fate or destiny I am glad you were there. This child is alive because you were there. I already named her Miracle."
Life, Fate, or Destiny will always find a way to create miracles for humans.
Today, I give thanks for miracles.
Special thanks to Trista for more opportunities to be grateful.
