Thanking Life

Now more than ever in these changing times, where things are changing in our world minute by minute, hour by hour it is important to thank life for all of the gifts that we have daily.

I have a daily practice called scripting. In this daily practice I used to write 5 things I was grateful for, writing 5 sentences starting with “Thank you…” However, now I have increased it to 10 things I am grateful for each day. It is actually very easy to think of 10 things a day. I am gratefull for my husband and son who are with me at home and we can harmoniously work together. I am grateful for the food we have here at home. I am grateful to nature for providing beautiful flowers to see out the window and to walk amongst. I am grateful for a lovely friend who dropped off 2 flower bouquets yesterday!

The other part of my practice is to write 3 things as though they have already happened and how it felt. This is so, so important and especially now that we are going through such anxious times. I have to admit that there were days that I skipped this practice at the beginning of this major shift. However, now that I have gotten back into the daily practice it is an anchor that I can count on. The more that I do this practice, the more things come to me that I am grateful for. Isn’t that magical? As soon as I started this practice up again, within a few days (I had been writing about receiving a surprise) a lovely friend dropped off 2 gorgeous rose bouquets on our doorstep! Wow!

I believe it is so important to put positivity out into the world. Not only does it make you feel better, it can bring more positive things to you. What you focus on really does expand. If I am focusing on things that are positive, that I am grateful for and on things that I know are coming my way, those will be on their way to me.

It is important to remain very patient with this practice. I have gone through my journals before and highlighted things that have come true, and sometimes they took days or weeks or months to show up. It is all in perfect timing, when you are truly ready for it. This is what I believe.

What 10 things are you grateful for today?

With lots of love,

Trista
