Thankfulness From a Successful Ex-nobody

“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.” Margaret Cousins

Just days away from my most outstanding achievement in life, I quickly realized how far one could go when you put your heart and desires on the right track.

And I say this humbly, sighing over the terrible suffering I put myself through but that in the end, divine providence gave me a great awakening.

If it hadn’t been for the kindness of so many people who saw me on the ground, broken and hopeless, who reached out their hands to encourage me to get up, I honestly wouldn’t be here.

Many of those who follow my writing know my past and how I came to overcome alcoholism.

That led me to wander the streets as a homeless nobody for half a decade.

I swear it wasn’t easy to let go of my old behaviors. It hasn’t been for anyone. But the inner desire to see a better tomorrow drove me to figure out the path to sobriety and stick with it.

Small daily steps led me to the right path to align my thoughts, which changed my bad habits and ultimately changed my behavior.

The reward has been immense. What I have achieved has exceeded my expectations to rebuild a new life.

They have fallen short, and my appreciation for life has grown dramatically and human beings’ love for others.

Today I escape mediocrity and formalize my life towards freedom and success.

Not the kind of success that many talks about that only has to do with money but to feel grateful and continue living a new life free from the slavery of my harmful desires.

*Today, I announced my engagement.*

And just as you read it, I turned from a hopeless mess to a huge success.

Today I’m following in Tim Denning’s footsteps, and I take the honor to mention him as he has been a great inspiration in my life and my passion for writing.

Let this be very clear, and I leave it as a message that there is nothing in this world that man cannot accomplish when he sets his mind to it.

Never feel guilty if you fall into a disaster because of your irresponsibility. As Ayodeji Awosika says, it has a lot to do with the environment in which one grew up and the habits one picks up along the growth path.

The most important thing is recognizing your crookedness or harmful behaviors and straightening your life path as a good architect.

Do not live blind, cloying in satisfying your flesh; in the end, there is always a bill to pay. Perhaps, you might owe it to your own physical and mental health because you won’t have enough to pay your debt.

Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me with their comments. My most significant payment has been the satisfaction of helping others not to make the same mistakes I made.

And I leave you with the latest message I received from The Author of Atomic Habits: “James Clear.”

“For those who expect everything, there are many curses.

For those who appreciate everything, there are many blessings.”
