Thank You, Teachers!
Expressing my gratitude to all who endure in this crucial profession

My 13-year-old daughter spontaneously shared her thoughts:
“I don’t want to become a teacher. I don’t want to spend my life trying to educate someone who isn’t interested.” — Marte M. (13)
Her opinion made me think. Although her quote is insightful and often true, the role of the teacher is greater than just the academic. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all teachers.
Thank you, teachers
Thanks for always trying, even if no one seems to listen. It is difficult to capture the interest of the digital generation. Why learn when you can be entertained? I admire your dedication.
Thanks for being safe role models who care and endure. Thanks for always having faith and for being enthusiastic. Even though plans, paperwork, and bureaucracy take up more and more of your time, you still have more to give.
You make everyone feel significant. Thanks for creating a community. You understand and are interested.
Thanks for your attention and giving the feeling of safety. You create continuity. For many, you are the safe haven. Thanks for never giving up. Learning occurs where you never anticipate.
“True education does not consist merely in the acquiring of a few facts of science, history, literature, or art, but in the development of character.” — David O. McKay
Cheers to teachers!
You may be wondering what the preliminary career plans for my 13-year-old are? She wants to be a police investigator. Chicago PD inspires her.
