Write a one minute “Thank you” note to someone:

Dear Mrs. McFerrin,

Thank you for being a wonderful teacher. I would love to be more like you~~

Back in 1987 you were totally cool. You knew what to say to this “old kid” in school.

Always teaching me from your “deep down” inside. Always a top-notch music theory lesson taught to us with pride.

But now you’re in heaven with our dear Savior, and I’m sure that you’re singing soprano in His heavenly choir.

You’re hitting those operatic high notes and even some lows.

You used to remind me to “breathe” because my breathing while I sang was quite shallow.

Your smile encouraged me to be positive as long as I live. To stand up straight as I sang, to smile and give all that I can give.

You told me, “You look so nice”, on my performance days. And even when I “hurried the accompanist”, you still gave me praise.

My memories of you will always be grand. One day I want to sit with you and hold your hand.

To tell you to your face that I love and appreciate you so much. And that the way you treated me meant a whole bunch.

With me being 31 years old when others in class were 18…Learning music theory from you, though not easy, was like a dream.

So, I thank you again for all you have taught me…About music, about life and

“Don’t worry, be Happy!”

Thank you for reading my “Thank you” to one of my favorite teachers. (Mrs. McFerrin…Bobby McFerrin’s mom)
