Thank You for Caring

All living creatures need your love today

I must share about something that really upset me today.

I was driving in Boca Raton. There was a family of ducks that had wandered on a busy street. I’m not going into details (you really don’t want to know), but what I witnessed was horrible. It left me feeling sad and angry at the same time.

I feel sad that these ducks (innocently trying to walk into the street) didn’t understand the dangers around them. Of course, they didn’t. They didn’t know that someone would be uncaring. They didn’t know that their life was not important to someone else.

What really makes me sad is that we humans have paved over, plowed through, cut down, burned, and in a million different ways eliminated so much habitat that species (like these ducks) have nowhere to hide.

It makes me sad every time I see another farm being transformed into another shopping center or condo. I feel sad when I see trees being torn down to make room for another parking lot. Those trees house birds and other creatures that have nowhere else to go. I feel sad when I see trash in our ocean, and on our coral reefs.

I could go on and on about the ways that we have hurt our beautiful planet. You understand exactly what I’m saying. And I bet you agree with me that it’s terrible.

I do have some good news here. The good news is that my wonderful wife Rachel Davis along with The Nature Conservancy in Florida spend every day working on finding ways to preserve the environment we still have left. I cannot even tell you how proud I am to be married to her. She is devoting her energy trying to keep these trees standing, the farms still producing food, the rivers clean, the oceans free from pollution, and our coral reefs healthy. She and her co-workers like Debbie Crane do a million other things to help save our planet. As I sit here tonight, I am beaming with pride that I’m married to someone who cares so deeply about these things.

Witnessing that horrible scene today in Boca just underlined how much there still is to do. I am tagging many people in this post who I know care about the environment. Please share this post with others who care. I’m tagging you on purpose. I want you to share this message with anyone who cares about our beautiful planet. It’s not just about the ducks today. It’s about our whole planet.

If you work for The Nature Conservancy in Florida, thank you! If you do anything to help save all living beings from extinction I say thank you.

I pray that you will pass along this message. Maybe it will go viral. Maybe it won’t. I have shared my feelings. That matters to me.

Thank you for reading.
