So, now you know

Why Colin Kaepernick took a knee!

He chose the knee on the grass,

To fight against the knee on the neck

He chose to speak against racial inequality,

But you chose to ostracize him

He chose to speak against police brutality,

But you chose to critique him

He chose to fight for a cause,

But you chose to sideline him

He stood for something,

But you treat him like nothing

He stood against white-privilege,

He took a stance against racial injustice,

He stood for #BlackLivesMatter

But what you did?

Called it unpatriotic, political and disrespectful

He did it for all of you

He did it,

To prevent that knee on Floyd’s neck

He did it,

So you don’t have to suffer

But guess what!

You’re still suffering,

And you can’t even breathe!

Now,

You’re witnessing with your own eyes,

Standing in solidarity against the oppressors,

Showing your rage,

Getting yourself heard,

Don’t you think,

It’s time to thank him,

For sacrificing his job,

For standing for justice and equality,

For believing in something,

When all of you were against him!
