The language I write is not my mother tongue, yet you read my heart well.

Author’s note: My mother tongue is Kiswahili. English is my second language and German is my third language; in the order of fluency. Sometimes, I hesitate to share my writing because the language I write most is not my mother tongue. Then, I recall a friend’s wisdom, “You cannot be a writer if you are shy.” Today, I am grateful to anyone who reads me and finds something to take away — with a piece of my heart.
