Text Me
A poem about my preferred communication.
I enjoy talking in person, I truly do!
That said, unless it’s important, give me a text!
I’m a loner by choice and by nature
My introverted personality keeps me alone much of the time
Don’t feel bad for me, it is much preferred!
Like a cell phone, needing plugged into a charger
I need alone time to recharge my mental batteries
Hours will go by before I feel content
I’d rather you texted me than show up without consent!
So, unless it’s a drastic emergency
Please, feel free to just text me
So, this is a poetry prompt that I was actually invited to! Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) did a poetry prompt on the preferred method of communication. Was a no-brainer for me, lol. Here’s the link to her story, with her wonderful poetry!
Go give her poem a look, it’s great! I’m not tagging anyone again but I do hope some of my favorite poets give this a swing! It’ll be interesting to see what beautiful prose you can write regarding this topic!
