Mass shootings are a major epidemic taking innocent lives as some politicians are sitting by twiddling their thumbs. How many more innocent people must die on school campuses, malls, churches, college campuses, grocery stores etc, before all politicians join forces to combat this illness that is running rampant in society? Gun violence is not only too familiar but has become a norm in such a supposedly civilized country.

As soon as the Robb Elementary massacre happened, Ted Cruz immediately took a political stance in support of the NRA’s support for access to guns and the 2nd amendment to bear arms. Abbott, Texas governor, holds a press conference while being flanked by every supporter of his in Texas that support all of his biased agendas from taking away people of color and younger voters’ voting rights, abortion freedom of choice, and now more access to guns’ laws.

All of the participants at the press conference who flanked alongside and behind Abbott glazed out as he performed like he was at an Academy Award with a rhetoric speech that impressed himself and his supporters, while the families and the rest of the descent world grieved the loss of all these lives gone too soon at the hand of a deranged and twisted mine who was able to purchase guns legally as soon as he turned 18.

Gun control is needed more than ever. Too many people are dying and too many politicians are sitting by doing nothing while catering to an entity that is part of the gun access problem.
