Tesla is Not Gonna Sell Any More Cars After 2023

It’s hard to believe if you don’t embrace the robotaxi revolution

This is the one million dollar question.

Is Elon Musk preparing all of Tesla’s structure to bomb up the global market with robotaxis?

Is it really gonna happen? Is humanity prepared for it?

So many questions in our heads. So much excitement over these last years. Over these last months. All this technology invading our roads.

Fresh news coming from Musk’s Twitter. Youtubers rising up the company as a legion of gladiators. TV channels putting bulls and bears fighting each other with strong arguments.

The party is on.

And it will reach the apotheosis on the 22nd of September, on “Battery day”. The day everyone is expecting. The most wanted event. Wall Stress is nervous. But shareholders are jumping with excitement.

Robotaxi Business is a Hospitality Business

When you go to Starbucks what do you get, besides the regular cafe stuff? Wi-fi, regular drinks, a nice space, and total consistency every time you go there.

For long-distance mobility, that’s probably what you’re gonna get in a robotaxi, too.

The Robotaxi industry is going to be a hospitality business because it will provide an experience, more than a driving trip.

But the big difference is not gonna be the driving experience. It’s going to be economics.

Imagine you have to go from Seatle to Portland. It’s a 3-hour ride by car or 45 minutes by plain. Although, by plain, it’s not really 45 minutes, because you have to wait in the airport for the check-in, and when you arrive in Portland, you’ll need to get a train to go down-town, so probably you’ll spend the same time as if you’d go by car.

The big difference is that if you’ll pick a robotaxi, in 3 hours you’ll be exactly in the spot you chose to be. But instead of buying a ticket plain for 150 dollars, the robotaxi will charge you 75 dollars.

If you go alone in a Model3, the price will be 75 dollars, but imagine you’ll share it with another person. It will cost you half of that.

Yet, Tesla’s preparing the ModelY with 7-seat to do that service too. So, if you have to go from Seatle to Portland in a bigger vehicle that can offer comfort and be able to pick 7 people in a single trip, the cost will be ridiculously cheaper.

Tesla is Not Alone in This Trend

There are more than 150 companies in China that are developing electric vehicles. It’s an amazing disruptive movement and although many of them are from low quality, it means it’s a new economy rising to develop an all-new industry.

Yet, from EV’s to self-driving cars, there’s a huge technology jump. And Testa’s probably the company with more miles tested with this kind of technology.

However, in some improbable countries, there are some talented people working in the autonomy car technology too.

Like a company called Mobileye, from Israel, that presented this year in Las Vegas, the technology they are developing. They started their business by developing a computer vision base and selling it to the automobile industry. And now they are the leaders in this industry.

They will launch the first testing self-driving cars by 2022, in Telavive. A partnership with Volkswagen Group. But Mobileye did another partnership, with the RAPT group in France and with NIO in China, for the same purpose.

The robotaxi industry is going to start first, before the self-driving car business for particular costumers. Why?

• the technology is too expensive to put in the consumer affordability;
• the mapping and the validation is going to need time before it can work in an entire city or state;
• the regulations are going to force companies to do a process city by city, state by state, country by country.

So, it’s very likely that we’ll see self-driving cars working as robotaxis before we can see ordinary people enjoying the same services.

10 Industries Tesla Robotaxi Will Destroy

1- The first industry that’s going to radically diminish, is the automobile industry.

The way Tesla is developing the manufacture of the EV’s and robotaxis is incredibly efficient. Testa’s technology is transforming the way cars are manufactured by building the structure of a robot that substitute human labor and swift to manufacturing in a 100% robot production.

2- The second industry that is going to be destroyed is the petroleum industry. Internal combustion engines are powered by petroleum. They are going to try to lower the cost of combustion engine cars and the price of gasoline, but it’s a matter of time before this industry completely collapses. There will still be demand for a few petroleum products, but the price will be so high that the industry is not gonna have conditions to survive. And the major beneficiary of this fall will be Mother Nature.

3- What about the car insurance industry? We normally don’t talk much about it. However, this industry is going to change radically in the next 10 years. Normally you have car insurance that protect you from an accident or from assaults. But in the robotaxi world, you’re not gonna have your own car 100% of the time. Actually, if it’s your choice, the majority of the time, your car will be working for Tesla services. So it’s gonna be Tesla insurance that will cover any damage in the vehicle. You’ll be charged with a small portion of a fee. This is if you have your own car. Because you might have no car and just pay for Testa’s services.

4- The legal industry is not very much talked about. It’s an extension of the insurance industry because it has to do with the legal processes that come from accidents. Normally, from fake accidents. There are a lot of places in the world where certain kinds of people does it as a profession. They prepare fake accidents to manipulate the insurance companies and for that to take profits from the system itself. It involves lawyers and other professionals.

But it’s a million dollar industry that it’s gonna be destroyed because robotaxis have 12 cameras filming all the driving miles. They are going to record eventually accidents that might happen. And these accidents are going to be reduced to a low percentage. Selfdriving cars and robotaxis are going to have a lower percentage of accidents that humans. So legally, in the future, it’s gonna be harder to manipulate the system.

5- If we’ll have self-driving cars and robotaxis on the roads, we’ll reduce dramatically the accident rate. If you’ll have fewer accidents, you need less doctors, physiotherapists and all the stuff usually are 24/7 in the emergency rooms. Medical industry is a huge industry, with private clinics specialized in this particular pathologies. Brain damages, orthopedics, psychiatry, all these services that came from brutal accidents are going to be reduced to a minimum percentage. This is going to have a big impact on the medical industry.

6- Parking lots industry are gonna be another activity that’s going to desapear. If you use robotaxis, especially in the big cities, they are going to be working 24/7. So if you go to work at 8 PM, you’ll call for a Tesla. The car goes to your home picking you up and drives you to your world. Then it’s gone. The same vehicle is going to pick up another person somewhere else. They don’t need to park anymore. Cities are going to me able to transform parking into green areas for citizens to have a better quality life.

7- Tradicional rental car companies, are going to desapear. This one is so obvious by all the things I’ve mentioned in the previous items.

8- The railroad industry is going to desapear too. Testa’s self-driving trucks are gonna be massively cheaper over time. Companies like Wallmart or Costco, that need the transportation services all the time, is going to use Testa’s services at a lower price and in a more efficient way. Even with the future project that Elon Musk have for tunnels, you’ll not need trains to go into the cities to transport goods and people. It will be done below the surface in a cheaper and efficient way. That’s pure disruptive technology.

9- The airline companies are going to be attacked, or by air, or underground. If the hyperloop project goes further, you’ll have an underground system that can transport people 300 to 600 miles per hour. And with SpaceX and Virgin Galactic making this hypersonic carbon-free airplanes to travel the long distance trips, from Los Angeles to Tokio, or from New York to Sydney, the airplain industry is going to radically change.

10- The global economy is going to change so much because of Tesla and all the self-driving and robotaxi industry, that particular industries like those I’ve mentioned are going to desapear, but others are going to flourish. We’re going to have a better world, carbon-free, more eco-friendly. We’ll have more time to spend with our friends and family, because people will not need to spend hours and hours in the traffic. Artificial Inteligence and software development are going to work for us, in a very own way to facilitate our day to day tasks. Some things, our kids are gonna assume as natural, when they call in their phones for a robotaxi to pick them up, to go to the shopping mole, or to an NBA game, or to Disneyland.

We are going to have more money in our pockets, because we’ll not need to spend that amounts of money in all this services. Technology and software are gonna make things easier and cheaper.

Disruptive Technology is Where to Improve Our Lives

Allowing abundance to embrace our future is better then fighting it.

I strongly believe that the robotaxi industry is going to reshape our cities and our day to day routines. We will not need to have a car in the garage anymore. The paradigm will change and our focus will be reoriented to other activities. We’ll assume some robotaxi will be wherever we want, whenever we want.

And this kind of technology is going to change our lives, rather we want it or not. In transportation, health, or jobs, disruptive technologies are going to be everywhere.

And Tesla is leading the way.

The world is in a deflacionary trend. Central banks keep fighting it by printing money. But technology is going to make things cheaper and cheaper. And we can’t do anything about it, but we should embrace it.
