Elon Musk has been very excited about the Tesla’s upcoming Battery Day- talking about it being the most exciting day for Tesla and also giving some hints about what is coming up.

As informed by Elon in an interview a while ago that the event might be held in 3rd week of May, I am expecting it to take place somewhere between May 17–23.

But, there’s a change in the plan. In a recent tweet by Elon Musk

We’re going to have to push out the date or attendance will be very low. Maybe do in two parts: webcast next month & in-person event a few months later?

Tesla has recently patented a new type of battery cell which is said to be with tabless electrode. There has been some more exciting news from Elon Musk and Tesla but during the recent conference call following Tesla’s Q1 earning report , Musk was asked about the Battery Day, to which he responded by saying “Yes. Actually, we don’t want to preempt Battery Day. We want to leave the exciting news for that day, but there will be a lot of exciting news to tell. And I think it would be one of the most exciting days in Tesla’s history and we’re just trying to figure out the right timing for that.” and also hinting about the upcoming Terafactory manufacturing plan that has a clear roadmap to a terawatt-hour per year.

Tesla’s one goal is to produce COBALT-FREE Batteries, while the EV batteries are not just made of Cobalt, there is one more element Li, which is abundant and can be recycled as well, the problem with Cobalt is that, the prices for this element has soared to the highest level in a decade. While Tesla is trying its best to decrease the price of its cars by decreasing the use of Cobalt and increasing Nickel.

In early 2019, Tesla acquired Maxwell Technologies, the developer of a “dry electrode” technology that could not only extend battery life, but simplify the manufacturing process and later in 2019, Tesla acquired Hibar Systems, which specializes in battery cell manufacturing equipment.

While I am looking forward to the so called Battery Day as Tesla can reveal details about its Million-Mile Battery, Cobalt-Free Batteries, and much more, While Tesla is also working on its secret Roadrunner project.

I will try my best to keep everyone updated.
