Challenge | Ten Word Story

A whole story in just 10 words

— just as the title indicates. Are you up for it?

This will be a short one. It’s been a while since my last post, as I’ve been “under the weather” for more than a week and haven’t been able to collect my thoughts, so to warm up to my next article, I decided to give the ‘Ten Word Story Challenge’ a go, inspired by Mona S Gable and Amanda Laughtland.

I’m always up for a challenge; I’m very competitive, and though this is not a competition, I can’t help but to compete with myself and try to come up with as many stories as possible. I wrote more than the ones listed below, but I do believe, that there has to be a certain amount of quality also, and I ended up with these personal stories.

This is the first but certainly not the last time, I’ll try this challenge — I know it’ll work wonders when I’m stuck and need inspiration — just as I play with Haiku poems and various prompts.

The six ‘ten word stories’ that made the cut:

  1. My life started when I gave birth to my son.
  2. Authentic to the core; the best is yet to come.
  3. Writing was always a dream — at 51 I finally started.
  4. Years in solitude — preparing for the love of my life.
  5. I accepted my creative side, and inspiration came flooding in.
  6. Getting married during the pandemic left us with unforgettable photos.

I can’t wait to read your ‘ten word story’ — feel free to tag me, so I don’t miss it.
