Ten Dark Red Haikus
From birth to fall
Red beginnings. Dawn. Birth of a brand new baby– tragedy awaits
Red of desire. She will crush you like pepper– pain of mixed pleasure
Red, red, deep red shame Twenty-one dead school children — Trump comes out swinging.
Maga hat and bad math, Trump says arm the school teachers — two plus two is five.
West’s fading power trade war against red China — where are the adults?
Hot wars of red Mars Next to foggy Mercury– No winner in sight.
Frida Kahlo’s face, martyred Christ still wet with paint– Blood-curdling song
Astor’s accordian playing Vuelvo Al Sur — red wound of exile
Leaves bleed a dead red over six black garbage cans– autumn sinks her teeth
Fresh rhubarb crumble baking hot in the oven — cat waits patiently.
