Thank You Notes Prompt
Ten Crazy Photos
To practice Happy Teamwork with my son
Taking a picture with your teenager is sorta like swimming with sharks.
But my thirteen-year-son and I were going to the mall today, and I pitched him my idea of taking ten crazy photos and he was down for it.
We started at Ahhs!, a novelty store with plenty of opportunities for crazy photos with fake vomit, whoopee cushions, penis-shaped candles, and other irreverent PG-13-type merchandise.
Besides taking crazy photos, our mission was to eat French fries from Pink’s in the food court. Food is one of my son’s love languages, and it never fails to bring a contented smile to his face.
Following the fries, we were walking by Macy’s, and I told my son we needed to take pictures of us trying on some clothes for our crazy photos. I did have this week’s Thank You Notes Happy Teamwork prompt in mind as we took photos:
Share a poem, story or article where you had fun working with others on a project
My son was hesitant to try on clothes in Macy’s. But I got him to take some modeling-style photos in the dressing room. No teenager would ever be seen taking pictures with their dad in public.
So how did I get him to pose?
Easy.
Blonde Blast.
It’s a cookie shaped like a brownie at Barnes & Noble, and I felt bad having to bribe my son to achieve teamwork, but in the spirit of Thank You Notes, I appreciated this time with my son.
Here are our remaining “crazy” photos:
I’ve always wanted to do one of those IG selfies. Now I can finally scratch this off the bucket list.
Model look number one was cool and tough.
Model look number two: the sensitive guy look.
Tell yourself a joke in the mirror. Tigger was trying to find Pooh.
Your mom asked you to clean your room face.
Mom said you can have KFC for dinner look.
Audition for a chimney sweep in Mary Poppins.
A non-prompted deep look into the soul look.
Anyone with a thirteen-year-old knows this one.
This would make a good scene for Rocky 7.
The lights went out in the elevator. I thought about what it would be like to be stuck in an elevator with no lights. Can you imagine being trapped in the pitch dark? Just you and your teenager son … oh the conversations we’d have.
