Tell Us: What Do You Expect in Love?

Seriously, do you have an expectation from it or for it?

Week eight of fifty-two weeks with your diary, The Diarist entry prompts.

So, it’s V-day this week. Mmm, yes….*clears throat* while everyone will probably be writing about love and the joys of it, I’d really love if the Diarists keep it real! Those of us who are regular Diarists, probably confide in our notes often about the L word.

Yes love can be great, but how often do we take the time to consider what we actually want from love, a lover, or a relationship itself? And/or if we are receiving this?

When it comes to love, our expectations are not always met, sometimes they are if we’re lucky. But, the starting point is: what is the expectation, anyway?

With that in mind and hopefully without sounding too anti V-day (as I do love the day, and it is my birthday!) Tell us this week:

  • What is or has been your expectation when it comes to love, a lover, a relationship, or connection?
  • Maybe you have a “love language” as it’s called, what are your thoughts and experiences with these?

You can write an open letter to an ex-partner, a current partner, yourself, the Universe, a diary entry, or simply share your thoughts in a Diarist’s style.

Don’t let this list be a limitation. This week’s The Diarist entry is all about exploring the theme of love with a splash of realness and reality — what happened, turned out well, surprising, or even not so well. Get creative!

How to submit your entry:

It’s an open question, take it how it resonates and apply it as you feel fit to you and your diary entry. If you wish to submit a diary entry to us, check out the submission page for full details here on this link.
