Tell Me Your Story!

Let me interview you ☺

I’m looking for people to interview 😁

Trying to scout for interviews one by one isn’t working, partially because the pm/notes system doesn’t work on mobile — but gaining writers for publications seems to work out alright; so let’s do an official article on it!

Only you know if you’re ready to talk about your experiences as a Medium writer, after all.

This is a request open to everyone, since anyone can be an inspiration to others. However, there’s some elements that may entice you to consider this offer more seriously:

  • Have you been on Medium more than 3 months?
  • Are you outside the typical age range of 20–45?
  • Do you make an income with freelancing?
  • Do you write about something highly specific (like music, art, Pilates, etc?)
  • Have you had any adversity in your writing journey so far?
  • Are there lists of articles, books, or other creations of yours you would like people to know about?

If you answered “yes” to any of these, your story is perfect for my Monster Creep Interview series! (If not, give it a bit more time and check again later.)

What Is A Monster Creep Interview?

These are interviews that are completely email-based. There’s no audio or video — writing only. So in a sense, it’s a lot like what you’re already doing in articles on Medium, just more guided.

These interviews used to be on F2F. Now that F2F is phasing out, however, I’m stepping up my game as professional Monster Creep!

Monster Creep is a series about me lurking on someone’s profile to see what I can find. The stuff I find interesting, exciting, or otherwise shareable gets thrown into the article.

It’s not even always Medium-related.

Monster Creep Interviews is a special kind of Monster Creep where someone has responded to this call for interviewees.

I’ll still lurk and call out things I see here and there, but the author also gets to have their say in the interview as well

The Interview

There’s a list of many questions to help guide your answers with no real limit on how long it can be. Ideally, the interview length should be at least 600+ words, but for most people that will be an easy target to beat.

Some examples of the questions are:

  • Why did you choose to write on Medium?
  • How has your Medium journey gone so far?
  • What are your goals for writing in general?
  • Is there any advice you’d like to give people starting out on Medium?

With questions like these, word counts will be a cinch to reach. In fact, you might be tempted to edit it down by the end!

On Monster Creep articles, the interview will be pared down to half its original length and published with my Creeping commentary at the top.

The full version of the interview will be posted on my Patreon page, available only to patrons.

If you’d like, a PDF copy of the full interview is available upon request.

In the future, these interviews may also be compiled into a book to be released on Amazon. When such a book is released, all interviewees will be provided with the free KDP dates for digital copies.

(I reserve the right to use my Amazon affiliate links for any Amazon-referenced works. If this is a problem, let me know and we’ll work something out.)

Important — After The Interview

Interviews are to be scheduled in advance, so each one will have a set date by which all changes must be made and approved for publishing. There currently is no limit on how many changes can be requested, so long as everything is settled by that final date.

Once the interview is published, change requests are subject to TAM’s discretion. It’s likely that the change will still happen, but I reserve the right to deny a request after publishing.

6+ months down the road, I will reach out to all previous interviewees to see if they are eligible and available for a follow-up interview. So please keep your contact details up to date for that!

How To “Apply”

If you agree with these terms, simply email me at [email protected] and we’ll get started on the interview. That’s it! Easy-peasy!

If you don’t agree with these terms, feel free to let me know what part bothers you and why in the email, and we’ll see if we can come to a compromise. 😉👍

Until next time, follow each other, follow the dopamine, and follow yourself, always!

Hey, look: a newsletter. And also Twitter. And Facebook.
