Teleportation: A futuristics means of transportation
Planning transportation the captain Kirk way.
Teleportation is all an idea in the mind. Human evolution through history has shown, every century is consumed by how they think they can improve transportation.
Sailing ships, riding horses, making cars, building planes, testing rockets, and every other form of transportation that you can think of are all just a means to an end. Humans have never stopped in their venture for high performance, highly reliable and absolutely fast means to travel. From the 24 hours of Le mans to testing heavy rocket engines to the Hyperloop developments, humans will not stop in this precious search for gold.
One might say we found gold once, in the most ridiculous place on earth. Teleportation, although alive as an idea for a while was brought into pop culture by science fiction literature in the early 1950s. Movies like star trek gave everyone the idea that rapid movement or return from somewhere to the other is possible using a “turnstile” like machine called a teleporter. The result? They beamed us all into this crazy fantasy and here we are, discussing the possibility of such an irrational idea.
This idea is all about imagination, so imagine, if it were ever possible for us to be able to break you down to your smallest molecule and we could figure out a way to somehow transfer that molecule of you to say London from Nigeria which by the fastest flight is 4,673 kilometres and 6 hours long but can be done in just a few seconds or even a mars colony from the earth which is estimated to take an average of 150–250 days at a distance of 54.6 million kilometres can be teleported in just a little over a few days, and then somehow be able to rearrange you back without any single defect, how great would that be? This simple idea has pushed humans to try and see teleportation as a means of transportation over the years.
Now it has not all been hypothetical, in the quantum world, scientists have been able to teleport information through the photons of the information that are not directly linked. Recently, Chinese scientists were able to teleport photons to a satellite 300 miles away but really, it is still going to take a couple more years or century to be able to perfect the teleportation system on not just photons but an actual atom which an ordinary e coli bacterium contains 9x10 to power 10 atoms not to even talk about the billions contained in a human structure. “you would require stupendous bandwidth and roughly 10trillion gigawatt-hours of power. Teleporting just one human being would be needing the entire United Kingdom power supply for more than a million years and it would take some 4.8 million years to transfer or about 350,000 times longer than the universe has existed. It would literally be quicker to walk” says THE GUARDIANS.
As resilient as we are in this search for faster transportation, we have problems. One, THE GRANDFATHER PARADOX. It goes like “if you were able to make the journey and travel back in time before your grandfather had children and you kill your grandfather, it would make your own birth impossible”, hence the paradox.
Also, another problem is the problem of your soul or life form, if you were to be reassembled back like was mentioned, the question of your spirit, soul, essence, your chakra, your life source whatever you might call it that you believes makes you more than just a human. Is it also reassembled and does that make you the same person or just a soulless body?
Overall, Teleportation is still just a wide idea, one that we might not be able to see complete in this generation, but maybe some generation might come after us and we might just be clearing the path to create a smooth transfer of human atoms. We just might!
