Information technology and business are now deeply embedded into each other. A business school shapes students and opens up new opportunities for a good career in life all around the world.

With the advent of technology, management education also has to change. To have a successful business, the executives would also need to understand and learn techniques to be ready for competitive interaction with organizations.

#1.Diversity -geographical, demographic and historical

The MBA students have to be educated about this new style of work. First, since the businesses are now spread into various countries, education has to incorporate the diverse geographical, demographic and historical understanding of cultures of different countries to make them job-ready. All this data is to be derived through the internet.

#2.Redifining the MBA for technology change

The students have to learn completely new styles of education. The whole programme will have to be fashioned towards new technological change. The syllabus will have to include Internet of Things, big data, and artificaial intelligence. The business schools now face the challenge of including these techniques in the syllabus.

#3. Data mining

Data collection is important but what data is right and what is to be picked up is important and this has to be done through data mining. The students will have to learn to pick out raw data and find out how to make it useful for the business. Understanding stastical problems will also become necessary for data mining.

#4.Innovative pedagogy

Pedagogy will have to become innovative, outcome based and technology ready. Classrooms have to become digital ready. The professor should be engaged in class with gamification to keep the students interest focussed. E books should be introduced. The class teaching requires collboration and sharing of ideas.

#5Content analytics

Content analytics will have to beused in B- schools so that the professors can access data of their students and use it to analyse their learning process and make teaching learning process more personalized. The learning gaps will be identified quickly to be able to guide the students.

#5. Using Augmented reality (AR) and Virtual reality (VR)

Technology will have to be completely a part of business schools. Cloud based computing, Artificial intelligence will be used in the teaching learning process. In turn the virtual facilitators, learning platforms and online assessment will become a requirement. The AR and VR will help the students to make use of an integrated learning process with pictures and embedment, animation and videos.

The main takeaways:

  1. Technology has become all invasive in the learning process and to make a business school succesful new technology will have to be used in the teaching learning proces in all spheres.
  2. The new techniques have to include technology in classroom with AI and Internet of Things, Big Data collection and data mining and storing
  3. The e books animations and videos will become very useful in the process. The flipped classroom technique of sending the presentation in advance and collective sharing and questioning in class will become a part of the system.

To conclude:

Classroom teaching cannot be removed from teaching in B Schools because the face to face interaction is important. However, technology is the new tonic and it cannot be avoided. It will have to become part of the teaching learning process to tone up the entire system to make it ready for geographic, demographic and historical diversisty as the world is completely interconnected.

No jobs work in isolated modes. They pick up people from B schools and expect them to be industry ready in world processes. Having been a part of the business schools as Professor, I know that today it is impossible to survive without technology.Truly technology as David Warlick says is the pen and paper of today.

To quote David Warlick said ,“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world”

Big data is useful in all business processes. You will get a good idea from Brajendra’s following story on Big Data where he has exlained data nining, storing and saving it from fradulent practices.
