The undefined website introduces "Technology Hits," a new publication featuring technology-themed sci-fi stories and articles, including re-published works from Illumination and Illumination Curated, and invites writers to contribute.

Abstract

"Technology Hits" is a newly launched publication that aims to explore the intersection of technology and storytelling. It has republished four science fiction stories that were originally featured in Illumination and Illumination Curated, with themes ranging from space exploration to medical discoveries and encounters with advanced alien civilizations. The publication encourages writers to submit their own technology-focused stories, suggesting that such contributions could benefit both the new platform and the authors themselves. It is with more than a little excitement that I welcome you to our new publication Technology Hits, a new publication which, following on hot on the heels of Illumination and Illumination Curated, has arrived here at lightning speed.

For me it is a great opportunity to re-publish four sci-fi stories previously published in Illumination and Illumination Curated. It seems to me such stories will far more at home in the new pub given that they do have a technological slant. I sincerely hope that by showing our writers a lead in doing this more of you will follow for the benefit of both the new pub and for yourselves.

The first story revolves around a character called Katie who finds herself involuntarily exploring space and bumping into none other than a character called Sir Elton Dusk. No prizes for guessing who that character is based upon.

Katie is swept along on an amazing journey which takes her to the kingdom of heaven via a space flight to a cosmic staging post en-route to Mars, a place which Sir Elton promises her she will be amongst the first to visit. And it seems to me that an excellent complementary piece by my very good friend Stuart Englander offers an alternative view of how the establishing of life on Mars may in reality be played out.(Go to the the end of this piece to find a link to Stuart’s excellent story).

The second story was born out of me trying to put a positive slant on a serious health issue I was having to deal with. I'm happy to report that for the moment that life threatening matter has been resolved. Nevertheless, it did inspire me to produce a little bit of imaginary, literary, technological magic.

I suppose a good idea doesn't care where it came from, as long as it reaches full fruition and makes an impact, that is all that matters. And it gives me the greatest of pride and pleasure to recall how Stuart Englander reacted by stating that the first of these two stories came straight out of the Kurt Vonnegut songbook, or something like that.

The third story deals with the ageless, age old theme of meeting an alien life form far in advance of our own civilisation. This story has a topical slant to it in terms of how we need to change our ways here on planet earth if we want to survive beyond our use by date.

The fourth story takes us to the third dimension. The story was based upon the idea of me discovering the magical properties of an old leather jacket which allowed me to explore my past.

I think the dream of time travel is one which will never die, as long as we dare to dream, we dare to dream of travelling back to the past. And hey, who knows, maybe one day we will manage to crack that technological nut. Until then, please feel free to read my take on that theme and perhaps feel inspired to explore your own time travelling journey as you explore Technology Hits.

The link below will take you to Stuart Englander's wonderfully insightful and entertaining story, A New World Order.
