Challenge your child, become a partner, a lover, a friend

I’ve held my distance. Protection against the pain, my old resistance.

I felt your warm touch, leaving an easy goodbye. It hurt us too much.

I knew every place. Suspicion, I know your game, hiding my disgrace.

I’d remain the same. Love rooted in a blind sky, untouched by my shame.

I was raised to lose. A power to dominate ready to abuse.

Embracing my tears. I ripped out my pride with death, making our truth clear.

Silent words spoken our energy will not wait; knowledge awoken.

I shed ancient skin. Together, taking a breath, finding my life’s twin.
