Black homosexuality is as old as time itself.

And it is no lie to state that men across various tribes in Africa were known to cavort with each other as opposed to women.

But colonialism with its alien codes introduced the concept of shame which led the natives jettisoning their ancient beliefs for something which made absolutely no sense.

But the tragic —and painful — irony here is that these same colonizers, who came with the missionaries actually were at the forefront of sodomizing young boys and passed on venereal diseases to them.

Please read Ronald Hyam’s Empire and Sexuality as reference on this subject.

So why have I brought this up?

Thomas Dexter Jakes.

It is alleged that the popular African-American preacher has a power bottom, which he has put to good use at parties with fellow celebrities.

Power bottom, what on earth does that mean?

This author had to go online to dig out what it meant and I have reproduced what I found for all would be readers:

If you are a true power bottom, you are gay man who has a huge appetite for being penetrated by another guy (or guys). You can last for extended periods of time without having to take breaks.

Power bottoms tend to last longer in the sack when the top is confident during intense jack-hammering (read between the lines). Power bottoms are ready to take it day or night and commonly like to skip a lot of foreplay and get right down to business.

Anyone who is still reading might think that the author is being somewhat facetious about a very serious subject, but be rest assured that I am not; not for a second.

The issue here is the extraordinary homophobia of the subject of this article and the crimes which are alleged to have been committed at the parties hosted by the billionaire producer and music mogul.

TD Jakes is well known for his opposition to same sex marriage, using the bible as cover for his bigotry.

But what’s emerging here is that underaged boys were actively sought by the preacher for his pleasure and what’s more, he wasn’t acting alone.

According to the recordings by Cassie, it is said that the likes of Diddy, Tyler Perry were active participants in the sexual dalliances with minors.

And should these allegations be corroborated, it might very well be the start of the Black me too movement. Bringing into the open, something which has been an open secret for the very longest time in the community — the subject of Black homosexuality and the church clergy.

Bishop Eddie Long is no longer with us, but rumblings on his extra-curricular activities was so strident that it became the subject of jokes by prominent comedians.

And just when we thought it would all emerge, the cloak of secrecy was maintained and our man went to the grave with his secret intact.

But that might be about to change this time.

With Black Twitter in serious overdrive, we are being brought up to speed on what’s ostensibly happened among these men.

So what if it turns out that these are true, what will happen next? Will it lead to a tsunami of revelations? Will the reputations of TD Jakes, Diddy and Tyler Perry ever recover?

Will these men go to jail?

Will this be the final nail in the coffin for prosperity preachers, a number of whom have lived double lives, for the very longest time?

Will we see a Jeffrey Epstein style imprisonment?

For Black folks with very long memories, they will remember that TD Jakes helped sell sub-prime mortgages to loads of his members and when the global economy unraveled in 2008, a very good number of his flock lost their properties.

Creflo Dollar, TD Jakes, George Bloomer and their ilk had lost credibility a very long time ago.

My hope is that the latest revelations will lead to a massive soul searching among those who have always sought to believe their leaders without really questioning their motives.

The time for change and real conversations in the Black community is now.
