Tanka for Meaningful Engagement
Claps are crap

Shout-outs — that’s claptrap Egos love their attachments but fear engagements Share your views and thoughts with me Feelings — true intimacy
This poem was inspired by 1) this brilliant piece by White Feather, which a) he penned in response to this thought-provoking essay from the queen of tantra, Katrina Bos, and b) inspired this beauty by Esther George; as well as, though I didn’t think of it consciously, 2) PoetChris’s poem on intimacy which he may have energetically read from my past:
“A couple months later at a meeting I attended during my time in Delray Beach, I heard a speaker of some renown (a pop singer popular in the late 50’s), who had over 40 years of sobriety, talk about intimacy. He said something I had not heard before — intimacy means “into me see.” It occurred to me that true intimacy is letting people see into me, but that before I could do that, I had to into me see.”
once he riffed with me as eloquently described by Chris here.
Thank you for reading — looking forward to meaningful engagement — you don’t have to agree with a word of any of this — civil disagreement is the foundation of freedom of speech.
