Tangled

A short poem from the past

Fickle forces find my fate Leaves it hard to concentrate Run, run, run, you won’t get far No matter by train, plane, or by car The heart finds airwaves to travel through Building blocks, this one’s for you The people stagger, scarcely surround Search for the airwaves yet to be found Heart always knows, but head stays confused Teeth stick around, just to be used That’s all you’re good for, you should know that! Compound visions soak colorful vat I wish you knew — that you could only see Your heart turn purple, coagulated me. So torture, tear, tangle, or thread. You can’t hurt a person already dead

Alicia Lee Colasurdo, 2013
