Taliban or NATO!? Who was the Mastermind Behind this Assassination?

The assassination that left the people of Afghanistan and other nations in a state of unease.

Martyr General Abdul Raziq ❤

“We want to talk about General Abdul Raziq’s assassination. Specifically, we want to know if General Scott Miller, the commander of NATO, or the Taliban killed the general! While unverified reports from journalists on the scene suggest otherwise, official claims indicate that the Taliban planned the assassination.” You make the judgment.

Who is General Abdul Razak Achakzai?

“Abdul Raziq Achakzai,” known as “General Raziq,” was born in 1980 in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province and belongs to the Achakzai tribe of Pashtuns in Afghanistan. Abdul Raziq was captured by the Taliban during their rule, and he managed to escape while his father and uncle were killed by the Taliban.

He joined the Afghan security forces in 2002 and became the border police commander in Spin Boldak, a turbulent border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan. In 2008, he began efforts to drive the Taliban out of Kandahar. In 2011, he was appointed as the replacement for Khan Mohammad Mujahid, the police commander of Kandahar, after Mujahid was killed.

During General Abdul Raziq Achakzai’s command, the province of Kandahar enjoyed a high level of security, and it was considered one of the relatively safe provinces in Afghanistan.

Two perspectives on General Raziq’s assassination

  1. The official narrative, which was orchestrated and staged:

General Abdul Raziq was assassinated at 3:30 p.m. on October 18, 2018, after a joint meeting with the NATO commander (Scott Miller) in Afghanistan, which was held at the governor’s office in Kandahar. As he was leaving the meeting, he was shot dead by one of the guards of the Kandahar governor, who was later identified as a Taliban infiltrator, along with several other military and security officials from Kandahar.

The question here is, why weren’t any of Scott Miller’s men killed? Why wasn’t Scott Miller himself harmed at all? Why did Scott Miller’s men delete all the recorded videos from security cameras? Why were Scott Miller’s men chasing journalists after the incident to confiscate their cameras?

The meeting between Scott Miller and General Abdul Raziq at the governor's office in Kandahar, Afghanistan

2. The unofficial perspective based on journalists’ accounts and extensive investigations:

According to some journalists present at the scene who did not wish to be named, and as reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik, General Raziq was killed by individuals affiliated with Scott Miller, the overall commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Before entering the meeting, all of General Raziq’s personnel were disarmed. During the meeting, which was supposed to discuss the issue of elections in Kandahar, Miller shifted the conversation to the “Durand” issue and asked Raziq not to interfere in political and fencing matters at the Durand Line border with Pakistan (apparently aiming to provoke General Raziq). General Raziq reacted strongly to the verbal altercation: “And he said, ‘I protect every part of my country’s soil.” and left the room. It is added that moments later, a smoke grenade was thrown, and as a result of the gunfire, the general was martyred.

Journalists present at the scene said that the smoke grenade obscured our vision, and Scott Miller’s men confiscated our cameras wherever they went and started deleting recorded clips. Their most significant action was going to the provincial database and deleting all security clips.

Additionally, Mohammad Mohaqiq, the second deputy executive of Afghanistan, referred to Raziq’s death as "an organized conspiracy” in a Facebook post he published on the occasion of Raziq’s assassination.

The Associated Press also wrote in a report that in the Taliban attack on the governor’s office in Kandahar, General Raziq was the primary target, while the Taliban referred to General Miller as the target of the attack.

The burial of General Abdul Raziq.

After the assassination of General Abdul Raziq, all the people of Afghanistan, especially the people of Kandahar, were deeply shocked. The entire city of Kandahar was in tears and fearful about who would ensure the city’s security after General Raziq. Following his martyrdom, he was posthumously promoted to the rank of general. He left behind three wives and thirteen children, who are now orphans.
