Tales of Woes

A short poem of humanity’s price of thoughtlessness.

What can I do to change tomorrow?

Tell you tales of woes to come.

The chilling truth is I find myself numb.

Doing nothing is entirely dumb.

To the likes of which I will not succumb.

I do not understand your obedience.

Nor shall you ever find lenience.

Carry on in grievance.

It is your only true allegiance.

Do not cry for what is lost.

You must bleed is the cost.

Suffer in the frozen frost.

What can I do to change tomorrow?

Tell you tales of woes to come.

Lay me down in the season of autumn.

Let me bask there in the sun.

Annually each season has a run.

Did you realize they gave admission.

To any who you deemed sought omission.

However all that was stolen was permission.

Steadily upward is their ambition.

No reaction, strong armed submission.

What can I do to change tomorrow?

Tell you tales of woes to come.

If you understand and believe my words.

It smells more putrid than cow turds.

Amazingly they are not even slowed.

Continually we are dictated through each episode.

What can I do to change tomorrow?

Tell you tales of woes long past.

That have grown into what does not last.

From a well that springs humanity; stupidity cast.

Everything on this beautiful ball.

Has a reason, heard a call.

Thoughtlessness and greed are killing this place.

Humans pursued dominance in this space.

Watching as the planet is beginning to react.

On her own, she will act.

The future we cannot predict, exact.
