Taking a Micro Sabbatical: A Break from Microcosm to Finish My Novel

I love you all, but it’s time for a break.

Hey there, fellow creative souls!

It’s time for some exciting news, or rather, a confession.

After much contemplation, I’ve decided to take a little break from our beloved publication, ā€œMicrocosm.ā€

Yes, you heard it right — I’m going on a Micro Sabbatical.

Don’t worry, it’s not a permanent farewell. I’ll be back before you know it, with my creative batteries recharged and a completed novel in hand!

Now, before you start throwing virtual tomatoes at me, let me explain why I’m hitting the pause button on ā€œMicrocosm.ā€

You see, there comes a time when even the most dedicated writers need a breather. And lately, I’ve found myself resisting and even dreading working on Microcosm.

That’s a definite red flag.

After all, our after-hours creative projects should make us shout, ā€œFuck yeah!ā€ not ā€œOh no, not again!ā€

So, I’ve decided to follow my gut and prioritize my novel for a while.

Trust me, it wasn’t an easy decision. ā€œMicrocosmā€ has been my baby, my creative outlet, and a source of joy for many years.

But there are times when we need to shake things up, challenge ourselves, and explore new horizons.

With this Micro Sabbatical, I’m hitting the reset button, giving myself the permission to focus solely on my novel.

You know, the one I’ve been daydreaming about, plotting during meetings, and scribbling notes on napkins.

  • It’s halfway done, you can follow it on Patreon in real-time or on Medium with a month lag or so.
  • I need to schedule the last 23 chapters on Medium, and with the break from Microcosm, I’ll spend the editing and prompting time on that.
  • I won’t be posting any more themes, prompts, or scheduled content.
  • I enjoyed the mini-course model and will likely continue with that when I get back. Or hybrid with some lighter more fun-focused prompts.
  • I’ll be back before you even have a chance to miss me, ready to revive ā€œMicrocosmā€ with renewed vigor and a fresh perspective.

So, my dear readers, I ask for your understanding and support during this time. I hope you’ll stick around, eagerly waiting for my triumphant return.

In the meantime, keep those creative juices flowing, explore new realms of inspiration, and don’t forget to enjoy the journey.

After all, life is too short to resist or dread the things we love. Let’s make every creative pursuit a resounding ā€œFuck yeah!ā€

Until we meet again, my friends!

Yours in creativity,

Zane Dickens the Instigator
