Take Your Best Shot
A poem about trying
Believe it or not Time begins to take its toll Your body just won’t move like it used to Your back aches Your legs burn Your will to do is all you’ve got Not a lot yet enough to give you hope That rope is still long enough to hang yourself Can you muster up enough strength to do something your age says, “You can’t!” Why not give it a try Run a marathon Or jog ten miles a day Do fifty pushups Or 25 sit-ups Give it a try Don’t just cry There’s no lie when you try Take your best shot You’ll be glad you did.
