Abstract

The website content reveals a lighthearted interaction where the author has been called upon by a writing colleague, Melanie J., to participate in a poetry challenge centered around the theme of food, with a focus on burritos. The author humorously admits to their lack of poetic talent, demonstrated in their creation of what they claim to be the world's first double limerick on the subject. Despite the self-deprecating humor, the author expresses enjoyment in the challenge and appreciation for the tag, which also serves as an opportunity to reconnect with other writers by tagging them in return. The article concludes with the author jesting about the potential rewards from their poetic efforts.

Tagged Again in a Poetry Prompt

Will these people never learn?! :-)

It’s far more likely that I’m made of beans, cheese and mild salsa :-) * * Photo by S O C I A L . C U T on Unsplash

I got tagged again by a poet

A writer, friend, ‘dontcha’ know it!

She gave me a shout

She called me right out

Now I’m afraid I’ll just blow it

She asked me to write about food

Burritos and such was the ‘mood’

I’m spicy that way

I guess you could say

But a talent-free rhymer, this dude

As you can easily see, the double limerick above is barely about the subject material, but it is the world’s first double limerick, and that’s got to be worth something. Or, perhaps not.

Regardless, it was fun. And, I do appreciate the relational tag from writing buddy Melanie J. .

I guess now I’ll be stuffing my pockets with all the loot sure to roll in from this extra-long bit of “poetry.” Ha!
