T.E.P #10 : The Freighter Truck
Can it get much better than some much needed time away? Recently my girlfriend and I made the 2.5 hour trip to Tuntable Creek, New South Wales to stay in an old Freighter Truck. A well deserved little holiday.

The Freighter Truck
Nestled within the rainforests of Tuntable Creek, the converted freighter truck house was a rustic haven that effortlessly blended the charm of yesteryears with a modern, semi beach vibe. The exterior barely touched since its last voyage, hinted at the adventures it had seen.
Stepping inside, one was greeted by the warm embrace of repurposed wood and artful touches. The interior exuded an air of contemporary rusticity, with white-washed timber walls contrasting beautifully with sleek, farmhouse like furnishings. All this combined creating a space that felt both cozy and spacious.
Beyond the truck’s left side threshold lay a wooden verandah that beckoned you to step outside. The floorboards led to an open-air paradise, where an old steel outdoor bath stood as a testament to the fusion of old and new.
Alongside this were the outdoor furnishings that provide the perfect setting to relax after a day of exploring the rainforest surrounds. There, under the vast Australian sky, one could soak in the tranquility of the rainforest, the gentle hum of wildlife, the whispers of the creek, and the static of the rain on the tin roof — a true oasis of relaxation.
This charming haven was not just a place to stay.
It was a place to breathe, and to escape.
Other Than The Truck
Surrounded by the lush embrace of the Tuntable Creek rainforest, the air was thick with the earthy perfume of the forests and the symphony of birdsong. Each morning, I would venture out onto the verandah, greeted by the dew-kissed grass and the distant sounds of the dam and creek.
Exploration away from the freighter truck led us down the plentiful unkept winding country roads. Navigating through the undulating landscape, surrounded by hills that seemed to stretch endlessly.
Rain was the consitent visitor of the trip, turning the air crisp and the foliage vibrant. The droplets danced on the leaves, creating a gentle percussion that underscored the tranquility of the surroundings.
It was during these rain-soaked moments that the magic of Tuntable Creek truly revealed itself.

Waterfalls, hidden gems within the rainforest, cascaded down moss-covered rocks, creating a mesmerising spectacle. The sound of rushing water accompanying us while we swim.
In the heart of this natural sanctuary, the converted freighter truck became our sanctuary within a sanctuary. Its walls echoing the whispers of the rainforest, and the rhythmic pattering of rain on the roof was a lullaby that eased us into a restful slumber each night.
Tuntable Creek.
The Freighter Truck House.
The much needed escape.
