Swimming Together

A poetic rendition of last night’s dream

I dreamed of you We were swimming together In the sea your words created You held me as the waves of your emotions Rocked us back and forth It was a cloudy day And then it began to rain Swimming through our gentle tears We reached the shore and felt the rocks Of strength and protection Underneath our feet Your touch felt like a kiss from a flower I wondered what else is there If we could leave the shore The rain stopped and the clouds left The sun so graciously clothed us in its light We were together in this dream And time stopped

This is an attempt to present poetically a dream I had last night.

It made an impression on me because of the symbolism of the imagery and the way my senses were engaged (feeling the water, the rocks, the light).
