Sweet Nothings of My Life

Introduction

I am an author of the upcoming book “My Soul Rants” Poems of a Born Spectator”. I started writing when I was 16 years old and I became a blogger at https://www.mouthshut.com/sweets_desire

In a few months, I became a Star Writer of the Month and earned some goodies too. But to tell you the truth, that was never my intention. Writing comes naturally to me. I have got published in 2 books and 4 anthologies. My first short story was published back in 2011.

I started writing off poetry in 2008 and I never looked back again. I guess, it happened because my father is a poet too (not a famous one) but I saw him writing scribblings in his diary. He wrote very well in Punjabi and English.

I have written more than 3000 proses, 250 poems and 150+ reviews on movies, books, life, and relationships. I decided to come up with my book because I don’t want to die without getting my work read by others.

I am currently working on my prose books and divided them into 3 parts. I will be starting off with the traditional publishing process really soon. I am also slowing down My Soul Rants work due to lockdown. In this time of despair, I don’t see any point in publishing it when people are dealing with more grave problems than reading a book.

Recently, I have developed an interest in sketching and watercolor painting. It brings me immense solace and joy and I never knew what all I have been capable of until I tried.

I am a self-proclaimed fitness freak and I lost 7.5 kgs on my own with home workouts and diet. I am my own trainer and dietician.

Professional Background

I started my career in 2009 as a Process Assistant with one of the MNCs and supported BOOTS operations in India. Multi-tasking is one of my biggest strengths and I have worked as a Business Development Manager, Content Manager, Executive Assistant, Administrator, Migrations Manager, Digital Marketing Manager and Internet Marketing Coach in different companies over the time span of 8 years. I have always joined in more than one role and delivered my services with utmost sincerity and professionalism.

Setback in 2017

I resigned from my job after meeting with an accident and since then I never got a full-time job in India. I have appeared for more than 200 interviews but nobody was willing to hire me.

In August 2019, I got some freelancing work but then the client ran away too. I got to know about medium and been trying to do something fruitful here. More than money and luxurious lifestyle which people claim is their cup of tea, I find solace in words and interacting with genuine souls like each of you.

I am well versed in English, Hindi and Punjabi Language as I have done my schooling from a Sikh school.

I was a topper in Delhi University but that was never my plan to become a topper. I am the double master — PGDM Holder and MCA. I am not planning to pursue anything in terms of education as I believe life is my teacher and it teaches me a new lesson every day.

I tried moving abroad in 2017 by all means. I gave IELTS for Academic and General and scored quite well. But things didn’t work-out for me. I guess God had a different plan for me. I don’t feel disappointed at all. I am exactly at the place where I should be so there are no regrets.

During my two visits to the US (Oregon and South Carolina), I got to realize life is the same at every place it’s just our mind that plays a trick with us. My trips got me real friends and life experiences. If given a chance, I would love to go back to the US and work there. Even if it doesn’t happen, I am happy in my country too.

At Present

I am spending time….

Writing on Medium,

Sorting out my writing stuff of more than 15 years,

Working out every day in the evening for 40 mins to 1 hour,

Looking for freelancing work,

Hunting some interested full-time jobs,

Sketching like a pro and playing with watercolors.

It’s a great motivation for me to wake up every day knowing I would be coming online on Medium to read you all.

Thank you for spreading positivity and being so generous. There is goodness in this world and you all are showing me kindness exists.
