April 9th, 2018 (NEW YORK) — In You Are Not Alone, best-selling author Jyssica Schwartz shares stories from survivors of sexual abuse and assault around the world. Giving these once silenced victims a voice, the contributors hope to further fuel the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, while serving as a resource for victims, their loved ones and clinicians providing care.

Additionally, in conjunction with April‘s Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month (#SAAPM), a new Twitter profile, @WeTooBook has launched, with a companion blog from Schwartz on the book’s inspiration out now.

Early word of mouth drove hundreds of book downloads and a sell-out early printing, earning a surprise presence on Amazon’s bestselling new books lists. Stellar early reviews call the collection “beautiful” and “heartbreaking,” while one doctor called it “an essential new resource for clinicians and victims.”

“The early reactions give me hope that the voices of these 55 survivors are heard loud and clear,” said Schwartz. “They are mothers, daughters and sons from all over the world, ranging in age from 14 to 72, refusing to be silenced. Bringing their stories together I hope to realize their collective desire to comfort others, raise awareness and stir further action to stop sexual violence and abuse.”

In honor of the contributors, 10% of book sales will benefit RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization.

“In a world of aggression, violence and betrayal, ‘You Are Not Alone’ serves as a campfire around which we can gather, united in our commitment to alter the trajectory of sexual violence,” shared Dr. Paul L. Hokemeyer, internationally renowned clinical and consulting psychotherapist. “For many suffering in silence, this collection will bring the possibility of survival home, and should inspire us all to become more compassionate and evolved in our intimate connections.”

You Are Not Alone is available now on Amazon in paperback and for Kindle.
