Surely, It’s the Passion
Embracing the Power of your Writing
Rants can be surprisingly impactful, because they are an outpouring of emotion, typically around a subject the author cares for deeply. While it usually contains logical points and general observations to justify a frustration, readers are more apt to connect to the author’s passion. An article written with force and clarity of feeling can resonate with readers. It can illuminate a fresh new perspective, it can ignite a fire in the reader’s soul, and it can serve to rally readers to a specific cause.
Passion is what happens when all four parts of a successful endeavor begin firing, helping to assemble the pieces that create a powerful impact. When you envision your main idea or theme, and you hold fast to it, and support it with carefully chosen words and sentences, and most importantly you publish it, readers will have no choice but to connect with your articles and stories.
I encourage you to continue in that vein, exercising the power of the Endeavor in your writing, and infusing it with your passion.
But why the hesitation? As if waiting for inspiration, or is it permission?
There is no need to wait, because you do not need permission. Not from circumstances. Not from timing. Not from gods or angels. Neither from spirits nor the universe. Not from corporations or publications.
Just you.
Use the gifts that were given to you at the moment of your creation. And not in exchange for something, not with stipulations or requirements, but for the sake of the creative joy of it. A joy that comes from having expressed yourself accurately and passionately. A joy from knowing that you have brought attention to your most heartfelt causes and feelings. And a joy that comes from you having done them justice.
And yes, there may be more important things than writing at the moment. These are the requirements of living in the earthly realm, and ultimately, we all live within the limits of our humanity.
But you can still yank against those chains. They do not need to bind you or hold you back. Writing is about things that exist outside yourself, about things that will endure through time. They are about immortality. Writing stretches the boundaries of your humanity in a way that few things can. The thoughts and ideas formulating within you must be laid out for others to see, for others to read and experience. Writing is a way to do that. It’s not a perfect system. Not everybody reads the same language you write in, but for now it is one of our greatest tools.
Those thoughts and ideas, don’t take them with you. Leave them on the page for all to see. And the more you do that, the more passionate your thoughts and ideas will become. They will connect with more and more people. They will endure. And know, that in the end, your individual passion will have done its part in expanding the boundaries of our humanity.
