Supernatural Romance Contest (With Prize)
Publication Fiction Contest Open To All
The time has come, my fellow Underworlders, for another contest with a prize.
For the romantic season, what I am looking for is a Fluff piece with supernatural beings in love — vampires, werewolves, fae, mixed and matched if you like, monogamous, poly, whichever works for them.
I want a wholesome love story.
I want the story to make me feel like this:
I know I tend to write a lot of angst but I need my fluff too sometimes.
Premise Prompt:
Write a fictional love story about supernatural beings in love. It has to be fluffy (I might have mentioned hehe), as in makes me feel good and has a happy ending.
Also! Keep it ‘clean’ since this is a clean publication. That being said, steaminess is allowed as is mature sexual subject matter.
Word Count:
Stories for the contest must be a minimum of 1000 words.

There is no entry fee.
Once your story is ready, submit it as a Draft to this publication, Dominium Tenebrarum — The Underworld here on Medium.
One entry per writer.
I, Hubby, or anyone in my family are not eligible to enter this contest. (I know, duah, but I have to write this.)
Timeframe & Deadline:
This contest will run from February 1st, 2024, 12:00 a.m. EST, to February 29th, 2024, 11:59 p.m. EST. (Yes, this year is a leap year.)
I will take a week or so to revise entries and select my winner, perhaps two weeks, depending on how many entries I receive.
Prizes:
1st Prize: $25 CAD + the story will be mentioned in the winner announcement post on Medium.
There will only be one winner.
Runner-ups will receive a special mention in the winner announcement post on Medium (2nd and 3rd place mentions).
Once the winner is selected, I will establish with the winner where to send the payment (Ko-fi or Paypal — these are the forms through which I am able to send the money.) Prize money will be sent within 5 business days from the date the winner is announced. If the winner is unable to get in touch, the date of reception of the prize will be pushed back.
I know these are a lot of details, but bear with me, I live in Quebec. I need to now add this text:
“Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.”

- Please tag “Dominium Tenebrarum” as one of your 5 topics (written as such without accents).
- I do recommend labelling your beings in your topics and whether it is Fiction, Poetry or Myths so your stories get automatically included in the appropriate tabs of the publication.
- Please specify your Warnings at the top of your story (either above or below your image). These warnings may include: Language, Mature Sexual Subject Matter, Violence, Blood, Drugs, etc.
- Please ensure that you have proof-read your story and used a grammar checker like Grammarly, Hemingway, or other. They are not perfect but they do help us catch some errors.

This publication is a mature publication. Hence, mature sexual subject matter, crude language, sexual language, implications, innuendos, steamy scenes, are all allowed, BUT no erotica.
