Sunsets are Daily Spiritual Awakenings
Every time I see a sunset, I feel closer to God.

Sunsets are never wasted on me. When the clouds start to swirl together in different hues, I always stop what I am doing and take notice. A sunset, to me, is God’s way of saying finish what you are doing, be mindful and take a moment to look at the beauty and miracles around you and be grateful for life.
Sunsets evoke so many emotions in me, and if there is a particularly colorful one, it’s difficult for me to take my eyes off the sky.

I am forever chasing sunsets. I will pull over on the side of the road to stop for a moment and admire God’s artwork and snap a photo of a pretty sky. I don’t think it’s an accident that a spectacular display of colors fills the heavens right before it becomes star-filled and dark.
Sunsets are God’s way of always surprising us. If you don’t believe in miracles, look at a sunset, and you will be gifted one right in front of your eyes. They always remind me that anything is possible and that miracles are real.

I have been blessed to have lived in many places around the United States, and I am always amazed at how different the sunsets can be.
The dust-filled skies of the desert of Arizona had the most breathtaking ones. I think that is where I fell in love with sunsets, as there wasn’t a day I didn’t contemplate life while looking at a picturesque sky of oranges, yellows, and purples.
The desert truly is a spiritual place. The conditions are so severe there, yet animals can still thrive, and flowers grow. A reminder that God has a plan. I think it’s the reason why many religions have been conceived by those that have lived in desert areas.

One should not wait for a special moment to enjoy a sunset. Sunsets are something that we should appreciate at the end of each day.
They add so much richness and joy to our lives and cost nothing but a pause in time. Next time you see the sun setting it’s head to rest for the evening, break away from what you are doing and gaze at the sheer beauty of God’s artistry.
Sunset is a perfect way to end your day. Taking a moment to admire one brings us closer to God, and it’s a way of showing that we are grateful for life, regardless of the ups and downs we may face.
Sunsets remind us that change is transformative, and endings can be beautiful.
