Sunset Cliffs and Root Beer Floats
End of Summer
I took a break from van life. I’ve been on the road this time for 217 days, traveling from Ohio to where I am now in San Diego, with many stops in between. It’s easy to mistake people who live in vans as being on a perpetual vacation.

This is particularly the case for the beautiful people in their beautiful vans, some of them pretending to have it all, when in reality, they are broken into a million little vain pieces.
I’m a seasoned nomad, living full-time in a small campervan. People often mistake my freedom-focused lifestyle for a vacation.
The truth is, living in a van, being on the road, and choosing to be houseless and zip code-less, isn’t always easy, but you know that.
For my birthday month of August, I decided to spend a couple of weeks on vacation. My aunt came to visit from Ohio, and together we explored some of the most iconic places in San Diego.

We visited the beautiful Sunset Cliffs. Sunset Cliffs is a picturesque coastal area located in San Diego, California. It’s known for its stunning ocean views, jagged cliffs, and beautiful sunsets. The area stretches along the scenic coastline of Sunset Cliffs with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.
Unfortunately, during the same week my aunt visited, my cousin was murdered. I wrote about it HERE.
By the way, I’m Franki, and I’m on a JOY ROUTE (also my YouTube channel name). Joy Route simply means living your life as best as you can.
I take my life one minute and one mile at a time, determined to snatch as much joy as I can.
On Medium, I write about my nomadic lifestyle, making money online by creating and selling digital content, true crime stories, and what I call impulse writes — whatever I’m passionate about on any given day.
