Sunrises make the New Beginnings Easier

Splendid benefits of Nature’s superstar

So much has been written about this splendid bounty of nature that adding more words will diminish its lustre, or would it? Doesn’t the sun appear different every day? Doesn’t the sun brighten our dull days? Doesn’t the sun mesmerize us with its vitality every time? Dazzling colors fill the sky with so many hues, shades, and tones that poets, painters, and philosophers are never satisfied with their admiration of the sun. Something is undoubtedly missed by someone that a more avid observer could better describe.

Our magnificent editor Dr. Preeti Singh always surprises me with her nature-inspired prompts about what she wants us to pen down our experiences vividly and candidly.

Her column in Reciprocal expects personalized posts about nature’s wonders that the universe has given us in abundance. Most of us take these wonders as a part of life and move on. Some of us ponder about them sometimes, and the best among us share their extraordinary relationship with nature.

Every living being recognizes the significance of the sun as it transforms us in so many wonderful ways taking us from darkness to light and making us happy, excited, and hopeful of the new day. It awakens our senses from deep sleep to a bright sunny day-brings billions of possibilities. We might have gone through hell a day before, but the sunrise promises new beginnings- to start anew, to try again, and to fall in love again.

Those who habitually watch the sunrise can confirm that the best of the best happens at dawn. The sun opens up direct communication with the universe if we care to connect. Sun guarantees a healthy future if we sit under its shade, of course, applying caution, as we can get the optimal supply of nourishment that promotes bone health, better sleep, and a balanced immune system.

“The Sun never repents of the good he does, nor does he ever demand a recompense.” Benjamin Franklin

Prayerful individuals sing piquant poems, say pious prayers, and patiently chant the sun’s praises since the beginning of time. Emotional and mental well-being is intimately tied to our closeness to the sun if we appreciate how incredible sunlight makes us feel. Take a cue from the animals, from the prettiest birds in the trees to the cuddly cats in our arms, how they become alive at the crack of dawn.

The upside of my insomnia was my relationship with the sunrise, as it made me feel rejuvenated at once, and I could carry on with the daily routine without much trouble. Early mornings are always a pleasure for thinking, meditating, and listening to the sounds of nature, the gift available to every one of us without any conditions.

When I open my eyes in a pitch-dark room (of course, with Luke nudging me to get up), I dart to open the curtains of the bedroom window to witness a magnificent sunrise. I’m sharing this quote that encapsulates my thoughts so aptly:

“I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days.” Henry David Thoreau

Ending with this wish for all of you.

“May sunshine surround you each new day. And may smiles and love never be far away.” Catherine Pulsifer.
