Thousands upon thousands of bright yellow sunflowers are seen in field after field when driving down almost any road in North Dakota in August.

The perfect time to view the sunflowers is right now, from the end of July to the beginning of September, and you can see sunflowers to your hearts content.

According to the following article, we arrived in North Dakota just in time to view the “superbloom.”

This year, growers in North Dakota planted 735,000 acres of the perky plants, per the National Sunflower Association. Sunflower plantings across the country increased by 29 percent this year.

The song, “Strawberry Fields Forever,” kept coming to my mind as we were driving down the road. I kept singing “Sunflower fields forever.”
