Sundown at the Alhambra

Six Word Photo Story Summer Challenge

Sultan. Ferdinand. Sierra Nevada. Rioja Sunset.

Sitting on a hillside Plaza, we sipped wine, ate tapas, and watched the sun go down over the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. I was wrapping up a three-week driving tour that stretched from Ourense in the north to Malaga in the south. The Alhambra dates back over 1000 years and is the prominent symbol of King Ferdinand’s victory over the Moors in 1492. The Sierra Nevada in the background includes the highest point in continental Spain. That was a lot to try to squeeze into six words!

In the upper center of the photo, that isn’t dirt on your screen (or my lens). It’s most likely a Griffon or Black Vulture.
