Summertime • My Love/Hate Relationship
With Doodles

Lucy King tagged me in a story prompt to list the things I love or hate about summer. Since I have been meaning to contribute some doodles to Creative Humans, I thought I would combine both.
Like most things, summertime has its good and bad qualities.

Growing up in Michigan, summer was commonly referred to as “three months of bad sledding.”

It was also known by its alternate season name: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Road Construction.

I live in the south now, where summer is the season of HIGH HUMIDITY. If you aren’t sweating, it isn’t summer.
But enough of all this negativity. We already have cable news for that. Let’s look at some of the good stuff.

Shorts. What a beautiful day, that first day of shorts weather. Out come the pasty white legs, and no one cares. Feel the breeze on your skin. Delightful!

Swimming. There is nothing like swimming on a hot day. What fun!

Cookouts. Cooking outside is one of summer’s great pleasures. Food tastes better outside.

Longer Days. Longer days and sunshine are a great couple. Hammocks and books aren’t bad either.
Well, those are some highlights. I’m doodled out for the moment. I need to go outside and enjoy the sunshine.
