Love, paper, scissors—v-o-i-l-à! Summertime gifts.

A handmade gift on a plate—an act of gifting from the heart.

To create something with love is a beautiful expression of self.

Because I am in love with what I do, the energy of love saturates each gift I create.

Each handmade gift is a carrier of energy. Be mindful: what type of energy do you gift forward to others?

This summer, set the intention to express yourself in loving ways.

All your creative expressions fueled by love produce the purest energy — what you do in the name of love ripples outwards to beautify, nourish, and heal others.

Love And The Art of Gifting

The summer-coloured paisley paper (recycled from a birthday present) lit the creative spark. Sheer yellow ribbons, repurposed from upholstery trim, completed the look. In this bonbon-style wrapper, I hid a chocolate biscotti surprise.

DIY Bonbon-style gift wrappers in 6 easy steps.

  1. Recycle gift wrap. • Consider recycling newspaper, tissue, and fabric scraps. • Furoshiki, the Japanese art of gift-wrapping with cloth, is a sustainable alternative to paper.
  2. Cut a 6” x 8” paper square. Use decorative paper edge crafting scissors for fancier edges.
  3. Add a confection.
  4. Make a paper roll. • Place the confection treat at one end of the paper square. • Center and gently roll the treat and wrapper into a tube.
  5. Add a ribbon. • Cut 18" ribbon lengths. • Tie and secure each paper end with a bow.
  6. Set petite gifts at each place setting. Bon appétit!

In the spirit of № 7, on this 7th day in the 7th month, I wish to thank the following seven writers. By sharing your truth and inner wisdom, your stories are gifts that expand my world. Thank you for your acts of kindness, thoughtful comments, love, and support — Amy Marley, Diana C., Hollie Petit, Ph.D., Mary Chang Story Writer, Rebecca Romanelli, Tonya S.
