Summer Is Almost Over, Don’t Miss Hallwyl Castle In Switzerland

More than just a castle, there’s lots to see

Hallwyl Castle (German: Schloss Hallwyl)is one of the most important moated castles in Switzerland. It is located north of the northern end of Lake Hallwil in the canton of Aargau.

The last time I went to Hallwyl Castle was in February this year when the weather was cold and there were few tourists, which made the castle seem very lonely in the wind.

In August, I visited the castle again and this time I felt a different atmosphere. Although it was already evening, many tourists still lingered.

As soon as we reached the entrance, we saw two paddle boats sailing in the moat, a man and a woman paddling on their respective boats.

This is a young couple. The man was half naked and the woman was only in a bikini. Both are handsome and beautiful. They stood out and of course, they were eye-catching.

We walked along the moat for a while and a winding path appeared in front of us. We left the narrow moat and continued to walk for about 20 minutes before a lake came into view, which is Lake Hallwil.

Some people were swimming, some were rowing in the water.

A pair of swans swam around in the lake, roaming the water from time to time for food. One of them suddenly turned and swam towards us, probably trying to get food from us. When he found us empty-handed, he swam away disappointed.

There were other birds I didn’t know and many ducks swimming in the water. They were too busy looking for food to pay attention to the crowds coming and going ashore.

The sun was gradually setting in the west, and the peripheral light dyed the sky red. At this time, water and sky merged into one.

The sound of children playing and adults chatting can be heard from time to time on the water. People enjoy the warmth of the water in summer and the beauty of the sunset.

Humans and animals live in harmony. What a beautiful and peaceful scene!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed the stroll along the lake with me.
