I painted the above painting as an expression of summer for the summer contest. For me, summer means happiness. Summer means joy and, most of all, colour.

The art I created by carefully dropping oil paint on canvas, and photographing it from different angles, gives a feeling of summer.

Summer. The time of year when all is growing in abundance and colour springs into our lives. That is the time of year when we can literally smell the roses. We immerse ourselves in colour and colour brings out all our quirky and idiosyncratic ways.

We are colourful people, and that is what makes the world such a beautiful place to live in. Don’t you agree?
