SULTRY LOVE: EPISODE 12
All relationships have their great and challenging moments. However, are those moments too difficult to bear, to the point where you’re mental or physical health starts to become threatened? We often put ourselves through great stress on the behalf of those we care about. You endure more for someone that has a special place in your heart. Relationships are meant to teach us something, whether the lesson is good or bad. Evolution should take place where we become greater afterward. It could involve lessons of what not to do, or include things that make us the best version of ourselves. When involving yourself with someone, it no longer becomes solely on what is preferred individually, because there are two people, not one. So it is important not to become selfish and solely think about one’s desires.
Yvonne is within Randy’s apartment sitting next to Lee while watching television. Lee is sharing his bag of potato chips with her and both of their hands enter the bag…
Victor and Kevin are asleep on the couch.
“Eeeew, move your hand please,” Yvonne said with a frown.
“Oooh, it’s so big and hardly etched. Have you been hiding something from us? Do you have a secret to tell?” Lee asked.
Yvonne grabs the bag…
He yanks it…
It’s a toggle war…
Yvonne and Lee begin throwing chips at each other before the phone rings. “Get the phone fool,” Yvonne said. Kevin and Victor awaken while Lee stops his assault, gets up, and walks toward the phone. Lee says “This battle isn’t over-” Then he speaks into the phone. “Hello?”
Lee nods and points the phone towards Yvonne. “Yvonne.”
“Yvonne?” Kevin and Victor both commented with a frown.
“Yes, apparently I’m getting phone calls.”
“Well, then it’s time to pony up the dough,” Lee replied.
Lee slaps her behind as he passes, and then she frowns while punching him in the back. “Aaah!” Lee whaled.
“Hello?” Yvonne answers the phone exactly when Randy opens and closes the door. “Hey, babe.” Yvonne nods while listening to the other person on the phone. “Hmm, I didn’t know.” Yvonne hangs up the phone.
“Who was that?” Randy asked.
“Tina.”
“Ooouu!” Kevin and Victor commented with a frown.
Lee starts to sing Darth Vader’s theme music before Kevin covers his mouth.
“Are you still dating her? First and foremost, have you been dating both of us?”
“Well….um, at first-”
“Yep, he’s screwing both of ém,” Lee said. Then Kevin and Victor take turns grinding their fists into Lee. “Shut it!”
“Answer the question!” Yvonne exclaimed.
“Shouldn’t we continue this conversation elsewhere?” Randy asked.
“No, we can have it here!”
“Okay, look-”
“Okay meaning you’re dating the both of us? Or okay you have an explanation?”
“Yes.”
“Yes, what?”
“Yes, I have an explanation.”
“Let me hear it.”
“I, I love you.”
Kevin, Victor, and Lee all cringe. “Ooouu!”
“You love me?”
“Look you’ve got my back against the ropes here.”
Yvonne gives a straight face.
“Alright, at the time I was trying to decide who to be with. I was confused and before I knew it I was dating both of you.”
Yvonne thinks to herself.
“But, I knew I couldn’t be with both of you.”
“Well said.” Yvonne grabs her belongings.
“But let me finish-”
“We’re finished.” She leaves with closing the door behind her and Randy lowers his head.
“Welcome to the club man,” Lee said.
“Club?” Randy asked.
“I get rejected all the time,” Lee replied.
Randy balls up his fists, while speed walking toward Lee.
“Wait, WAIT!” Lee said with trepidation.
Love can make you do some outlandish things; it can drive you wild, bring you out of your comfort zone, change the normality of your character, or have you risk everything for a belief. Pan and gain are both coupled with love; what matters is which one outweighs the other. Tina is backstage putting on makeup while sitting in front of a mirror within her studio.
A crew member gets her attention. “Ms. Caréra you have a visitor.”
“Don’t care! Send whoever it is away!” Footsteps sound behind her and Tina pauses while looking through the mirror. Yvonne approaches with a greeting. “Hey.”
“I’m going to have to fire that crew member.”
“I came by to be the first to explain myself.”
“Save it.”
“You’re still angry, I take it.”
“Well duh!”
“Well I can’t read your mind; so please voice how you feel.”
“First I find you two together at the fashion show. Then I’m stupid enough to fall for him, yet again. Then to top it off, you two were dating.”
“Not anymore.”
“Wow, congratulations! Would you like a cookie? Or perhaps a dozen roses?”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know he was with you too. There I said it.”
Tina sighs, leans back, and folds her arms. “Why are men more attractive, when their attention is focused elsewhere?”
“Beats me? Did you at least ask him if we were together?”
“He said the obvious, that you two kissed at the show but it was an accident. He made it seem like he was only with me. So, after everything…I’m glad the way things turned out.”
“What do you mean?”
“That in the end, you suffered as much as I did.”
“I can’t believe you!”
“I can’t believe that you FUCKED the man that I’ve once loved or love! Who does that?! You’re just a guilty as him!”
“Oh my God,” Yvonne replied.
“We’re done, you got that? Or is there too much air up there?” Tina said while Yvonne stares with disbelief. Yvonne wipes her eyes before walking backward, and then she leaves the room.
