Subway Writing
#ShansPoetryPrompt: write a poem about your favourite place to write

I used to write on the subway, in a time when getting home and getting to school took hours; only to be filled by the same 5 songs played repeatedly
(this was before I discovered podcasts)
I used to write on my first touch screen phone which honestly could only hold three apps; and even with three apps I had to clear Twitter’s app history every six days just so it wouldn’t suddenly die and need a factory reset.
In a time where I could not game and I had so much time to my own thoughts, people watching the strangest of interactions on public transit, I wrote, and I wrote, and I wrote.
I miss those days, but I don’t; only my memory of how pleasant it was to write, but not the sweaty squish, the rude, rough shoves, the guy who took over half of the seat I was sitting in to aerate his balls.

Hi I’m Lucy Dan 蛋小姐 (she/her/她) and I used to commute something like 90 minutes to school during undergrad, to save on living in the city. Yet, despite such a horribly lengthy commute, I kind of miss it sometimes. It was such a good arbitrary time to think and reflect and listen to podcasts that I don’t really get anymore. I just dive right into everything from the last task, without really getting this arbitrary break. I never thought I’d actually miss such a long commute, but to a degree, I kind of do!
Ps, get an irregular and definitely not daily, weekly or monthly dose of random shower thoughts?
