Summary

Photo Dojo invites photographers to submit articles on photography, with guidelines on content originality, credit, and participation in Medium's Partner Program.

Abstract

Photo Dojo is a publication on Medium that welcomes contributions from photographers worldwide. It features a range of content, including tutorials, gear discussions, photo essays, and philosophical musings. Submissions must adhere to Medium's rules, be previously unpublished, and be related to photography. Contributors are encouraged to include photos, which must be properly credited. Once published in Photo Dojo, articles should remain within the publication. Editing for grammar and formatting is standard, but content changes require author consent. Writers can earn through Medium's Partner Program by locking their articles before submission. Photo Dojo supports a community of photographers and simplifies the writer application process, promising a response within a few days for potential publication.

Photo Dojo is a publication focused on sharing great articles written by talented photographers around the world. We publish anything from tutorials and gear discussion to photo essays and philosophical articles. It’s a community of likeminded artists and we’d love for you to join us.

But first let’s go over those dastardly rules.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS.

Submissions must comply with Medium’s own rules. This is their house, we are guests!

All submissions must be unpublished. Click here to see how to submit a draft to a publication

All submissions must be photography related. This is a Photo Dojo after all.

We encourage the use of photos in your submissions whether they be your own work or from Unsplash. Photos MUST be credited in the caption.

Once your article/story has been published in Photo Dojo we ask that you do not remove it from the publication. We understand that occasionally a writer may remove a story from Medium but if this becomes a habit then we will cease to publish the writer’s work.

We encourage multiple submissions but we will publish a maximum of one story per day per writer. Other accepted submissions will be scheduled for another day.

Submissions may undergo editing for grammar and formatting but any changes to the content of the article will be discussed with the author before any changes occur and before publication.

How to submit a draft to Photo Dojo

Medium’s Partner Program

We actively encourage our writers to publish their articles with Photo Dojo under the Medium Partner Program. If you are a Medium Partner then before submitting your draft to Photo Dojo you must ‘lock’ your article yourself. (Make this story eligible to earn money? > Yes > Save.)

We are unable to publish your article under the Medium Partner Program for you. Only you can edit this after publication.

You can earn money under the Medium Partner Program, the amount is determined by, and only by, Medium. Photo Dojo plays no part in any monetary agreements.
