What to do if you want to become a writer for IFOT

SO YOU WANT TO WRITE FICTION

Have you ever watched the Blacklist, the TV series currently shown on Netflix? Nine seasons of progressive intrigue and mystery. James Spader plays the main character superbly, attracting audiences with his quirky confidence and relatable humor.

What other TV series, sitcoms, or movies have you watched? Do you like romance? Sci-fi? Magic? Horror? Westerns? Whatever you like, it can be found on any of the wide variety of apps and channels readily available to all through the magic of the internet. And with the exception of some documentaries out there, IT IS ALL FICTION.

So if you watch TV, whether you admit it or not, YOU LIKE FICTION!

WRITING FOR IMAGINATIVE FICTION OUT THERE

So now that we’ve established that you like fiction, maybe you’d like to give it a try by writing for the new publication Imaginative Fiction Out There which is part of the Are You Out There family of publications.

Writing for IFOT has some very simple and brief guidelines:

1. Include a Title, Subtitle, and sourced photo to start your article.
2. Complete the ‘Alt text’ for your included photos or graphics.
3. TAGS — you can use up to five tags in your story. #️⃣ One of your tags must be IFOT. #️⃣ A second tag should closely describe the fiction genre of your story. Here are some examples of tags to use. Please note that IFOT will not accept erotica fiction. 🦋 Fantasy Fiction 🦋 Science Fiction 🦋 Suspense Fiction 🦋 Horror Fiction 🦋 Crime Fiction 🦋 Romance Fiction 🦋 Western Fiction 🦋 Family Life Fiction 🦋 Speculative Fiction 🦋 Dystopian Fiction
4. #️⃣ A third tag is necessary if you’re writing chapters or a series. If that is the case, use the tag Fiction Series. #️⃣ A fourth tag can be whatever you choose #️⃣ A fifth tag can also be whatever you choose
5. Use your imagination and write a story that will seek to enthrall audiences all over Medium and beyond.
