Do you think you have something different to add to a conversation? Do you have an unusual perspective or think differently or perhaps independently from others based on your life experiences? If so, we would love to explore your unique perspective and possibly partake in a meaningful exchange that would add value to this community.

We all have unpopular opinions that at times we fail to share. Possibly due to fear of what others might say, or fear of facing the dreaded wrath of being cancelled.

If you have unpopular opinions that are filled with humor, unpopular opinions about life in general, parenting style, beauty standards, or unpopular opinions that are out of this world that will send us down the rabbit hole, then you are in the right place for your voice to be heard. We will also accept unpopular opinions about political issues that are lighted-hearted or perhaps written as satire.

Don’t be afraid, SAY IT LOUD and bring your unique thoughts to the conversation. Here’s what you need to know:

Guidelines for submission:

  • We only accept unpublished drafts
  • Please keep the pieces short to about 5 minutes or less, that’s around 1000 or so words. Short blurbs and short forms are highly encouraged, state your unpopular opinions and let them fly.
  • No hate speech, bullying, harassment, or derogatory comments will be accepted. Those pieces will be rejected as they will be a waste of your time as well as mine. Feel free to self-publish or submit them to another publication.
  • Be respectful. You can share your unpopular opinions in a responsible way.
  • Poems and short stories are encouraged, unpopular opinions can be expressed creatively, go wild.
  • Please submit images using the Medium’s guidelines. Always credit your sources and if you are using your own images, credit them as well.
  • Please also cite the source of your articles according to Medium’s guidelines
  • Medium allows up to 5 tags for each article, my only request is that you use the Unpopular Opinion tag for all your submissions.
  • Please edit your work for grammatical errors prior to submitting it. I have had my share of blunders, so I understand that struggle as a writer. There are programs like Grammarly that can help, and the free version will suffice in editing your articles.
  • Ahhh profanity: I have no issues with the use of profanity, we are all adults right, but please follow the Medium’s guidelines when using language that could be deemed as offensive. Again, be respectful and don’t get reported and/or booted from Medium because you have no self-control.

  • Or, submit a request in the comment section along with the link to your Medium page.
  • Please always include a link to your Medium page, it makes it easier to locate your name/page.
  • The requests will be accepted within 48 hours of submission

I am super excited to launch this publication as I believe that Medium has a plethora of writers who are independent thinkers. I am looking forward to the unique ways in which you all are willing to express your thoughts. But again, I can’t stress it enough, please be respectful.
