How to get published with Medium’s largest repository of infosec-related articles.

Welcome to Infosec Writeups. This publication has been created to be your go-to place to find a collection of awesome write-ups from the best hackers on topics ranging from bug bounties and CTFs to vulnhub machines, hardware challenges, and real-life encounters that are published on Medium. It aims to help people in the InfoSec community share and discuss new ideas and methodologies and learn from each other.

Many readers are unaware of this, but you can clap 50 times on any post. So, if you like something, don’t think twice; leave some more claps.

What It Means to be Published with Infosec Writeups

• The story will still appear on your profile page.
• As the author, you retain all rights to your story.
• If you publish your story at Infoesec Writeups, it will be visible to our follower base of 20,000+ in addition to your own followers.
• We also share a link to the story on our active Twitter page with 7000+ followers.
• We also share our story with our Discord community which has about 3000+ active members from the infosec community.

How to Submit?

If you’re not added as a writer

Before you proceed with the article, here is our submission guidelines (with a few quick formatting tips) in video format (featuring our editor Anangsha Alammyan):

Tips:

1. Try to embed images in your write-ups so that the reader can understand what you are exactly trying to explain.
2. Use Medium text editing features to highlight, quote, etc., and make it look more visually appealing.
3. If you have to embed big chunks of code, consider using https://gist.github.com/.
4. If you want to take it a step further and make it grammatically correct, you can try using https://app.grammarly.com/.
5. Try to keep the write-ups short(~6 min read). If not possible, make it into parts and append the link to other parts below the others.
6. Upload videos to Youtube, and then you can embed them.
7. If you are using images from somewhere, give proper source credits in the image caption area.

If our editors have picked your article

Our editors are always looking for great pieces published on Medium to share with our audience. If one of our editors left a private note on your story asking you to submit it, here’s what you can do.

According to Medium’s official guidelines, submit your story to Infosec Write-ups.

1. Open the story you want to submit. Click the three-dot button at the top right, then Edit story to enter the edit mode.
2. In the edit mode, click the three-dot button in the top-right corner of the page to open your story settings.
3. Select Add to publication from the dropdown list.
4. Choose Infosec Writeups and click Save.

It is preferred to submit drafts for publication rather than submitting a previously published post. Submitted drafts will be published within 24 hours.

We started small but picked up a lot of traction, and the number of followers kept on increasing. So we also decided to add as many good writers as possible and keep providing good and exciting content.

Please note that Infosec Writeups reserves the right to add relevant text and/or links at the bottom of the article. This won’t affect your readability or context. Only submit articles to us if you agree to this clause.
